Ryan A. Claxton

Ryan Claxton joined the Ingrum Law Firm, PLLC in 2023 after previously joining Phillips & Ingrum earlier the same year. Ryan practices family law and criminal law in Sumner, Davidson, Wilson, Rutherford, and all surrounding counties.

He has personally been affected by family law issues and that has impacted his decision to help guide people through the divorce process. "I feel very strongly about helping others who may need it during such a challenging time in their lives. A divorce is consistently seen as one of the most stressful events in a person's life and it is critically important that you have a steady hand at the wheel to get you through this time."

Ryan can easily relate to others and understands that the stressful or unpleasant legal issue they are dealing with doesn't define them. "I'm going to do everything I can to get you the outcome you deserve, and I'm going to work as hard as I can on your case because I know it's your life at stake," he said.

Prior to joining Phillips & Ingrum in February 2023, Ryan worked at the largest domestic litigation firm in the country for over five (5) years handling a myriad of family law cases, including divorce, child support and custody modification matters. He also previously worked at a prominent law firm in downtown Nashville, TN handling family law and criminal law matters.

Ryan is a proud Tennessee native who was raised in Kingsport, Tennessee. He earned his B.A. degree in Political Science with a minor in History at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Ryan later obtained his Juris Doctorate from Belmont University College of Law in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was also recognized by the Tennessee Supreme Court for his extensive pro bono service performed as a student.

At his previous firm, Ryan earned recognition as the Top Regional Attorney, as well as earning recognition for "Rookie of the Year" for all associates whom had been with the firm for less than two (2) years. Ryan was also recognized on several occasions for his dedication to client satisfaction as well as his proficiency with internal guidelines & company metrics.

Ryan lives with his wife, Jenna, their daughter, Charlotte, their son, Teddy, and their two dogs, Tucker & Gus. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, watching University of Tennessee athletics and his beloved Dallas Cowboys, both find new ways to disappoint him, and occasionally playing Xbox.
