Austin V. Knapp
Austin V. Knapp joined the Ingrum Law Firm, PLLC in 2024 after previously practicing in a prominent boutique Nashville law firm. Upon his admission to the Tennessee State Bar in December 2015, Austin began his legal career at an established law firm in downtown Nashville handling family law, probate, criminal defense, and administrative hearings. Since 2018 Austin has concentrated his practice primarily in domestic law assisting families through emotional and difficult personal conflicts. He has represented numerous clients with dedication and expertise throughout Middle Tennessee, including Davidson, Montgomery, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson and Williamson Counties. Austin’s proficiency in litigating domestic law issues, ranging from divorce, adoption, contempt to paternity actions, has earned him a reputation as a skilled and compassionate advocate. While Austin’s primary practice has focused on domestic law, he also practices in the areas of criminal defense, Wills and Probate, and is available to assist you with all legal challenges you may face.
Austin is a proud native of Kingsport, Tennessee. However, his legal journey began in Tallahassee, Florida, at the Florida State University College of Law. In 2015 he earned a Juris Doctor from FSU College of Law, marking the culmination of a distinguished academic career. Austin’s commitment to excellence was evident early on, as he graduated cum laude in 2011 from the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy at Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History, while also holding an Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in Construction Engineering Technology from Tallahassee Community College (2010).
During his time in law school, Austin’s passion for public service led him to the Florida State College of Law Public Interest Law Center and the Children’s Advocacy Division. In this role, Austin worked tirelessly defending the rights of underprivileged children in administrative hearings against the State of Florida, showcasing his commitment to justice and fair representation. Additionally, while in law school Austin interned with the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office in Nashville which allowed him to gain invaluable insights into criminal cases and sharpened his skills in the courtroom, enriching his legal expertise.
Austin has been honored on several occasions for his dedication to client satisfaction as well as his expertise. As a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Tennessee John Marshall Chapter of the American Inn of Courts, and the Nashville Bar Association, Austin continues to demonstrate his commitment to the legal community and his clients. His approach to law is not just about winning cases but about making a positive difference in the lives of those he represents. Austin strongly believes that every individual he meets has a story and life experience that deserves recognition, empathy and to be heard, and when necessary, zealous advocacy in a court of law to ensure they receive the justice to which they are entitled.
